Passive report structures

Estas estructuras pueden ser utilizadas para expresar lo que la gente en general siente o piensa. Puedes encontrar estas estructurasen contextos formales como textos científicos o noticias.

Ejemplos de este tipo de estructuras:

     It is said that...

     It has been believed that...

     It iwas thought that...

     He/She/It     is/was        said

     They            are/were     believed     to + infinitive

                                        thought

Ejemplos prácticos:

          It used to be said that beauty was in the eye of the beholder.

          But now beauty is thought to be objective and quantifiable.

Otros verbos que pueden ser utilizados de esta manera: alleged, assumed, claimed, considered, expected, felt, reckoned, regarded, reported, rumoured, suggested.

Have/Get something done

Se usa esta estructura cuando alguien hace algo por ti, sobretodo porque le has pagado para hacerlo.

Estructura: have/get + something (object) + past participle

          I'll probably have/get my car repaired next week.
          How many times has she had/got her fortune told?
          You really should have/get your eyes tested.
