Dynamic meaning
La mayoría de los verbos tienen un significado dinámico. Describen tanto acciones (single acts - hit, knock, throw) o actividades/procesos (change, eat, walk, work). Algo 'pasa'.
Someone's knocking at the door. (repeated acts)
I've been working here all my life. (continuous activity)
The world's climate has become warmer. (process)
Stative meaning
Verbos con significado estático suelen ser verbos relacionados con el conocimiento, la emoción o la percepción o verbos relacionados con ser/tener. Nada 'sucede'.
I've known my best friend for more than ten years.
She has two laptops and a huge desktop machine.
I can't see a thing without my glasses.
Nota: La forma continua tiene un significado dinámico y, por tanto, no puedes usar normalmente verbos con un significado estático en forma continua.
Los verbos con significado estático no suelen ser usado en el imperativo.
